Flood Management & Green Infrastructure
Throughout portions of the six watersheds in the MMSD service area, flood management projects have included structural measures (things we build) and nonstructural measures (land we acquire and practices we adopt).
Some examples include:
- Floodwater basins
- Property acquisitions and easements
- Property floodproofing
- Earthen berms and floodwalls
- Stream corridor improvements
- Staff-led tours of some of the green infrastructure project sites can be arranged by MMSD.
- Self-guided tours are also feasible to view green infrastructure demonstrated at:
- MMSD Parking Lot
