MMSD partnered with the City of Brookfield to purchase two conservation easements that include extensive floodplain portions of Underwood Creek, totaling 16.16 acres. These purchases will allow Underwood Creek to naturally store rainwater and help protect homes built near the river. The 14.91-acre Underwood Creek easement property consists of 15% hydric soils and protects 942 feet of Underwood Creek.
