The former Cannon property is located in a larger complex of land owned by Milwaukee County Parks that follow the Oak Creek. Containing 90% water absorbing hydric soils, MMSD partnered with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service to increase the water holding potential of the soils on this formerly agricultural property. Frogs and toads congregate in the restored wetland and celebrate the return of water with their loud spring chorus.
