Commissioners of the Milwaukee Metropolitan Sewerage District (MMSD) today approved a 10 year agreement with Veolia Water North America – Central LLC (Veolia Water) that will save ratepayers an estimated $35 million or more.
MMSD routinely tests area rivers and Lake Michigan for bacteria and other water pollution. See where recent results indicate potentially unsafe water quality for human contact.
Part of MMSD’s $1 billion Overflow Reduction Plan, the Harbor Siphons project will deliver most of the wastewater that is cleaned at the Jones Island Wastewater Treatment Plant.
