This public advisory page is updated whenever a sewage overflow into area waterways is confirmed from the Milwaukee Metropolitan Sewerage District’s (MMSD) sewer system. The information on this page is updated regularly based on the best available data, and is therefore, subject to change.
The page does NOT track overflows that may occur from sewer systems owned by the 28 communities served by MMSD.
Important: Disease causing microorganisms may be present in area waterways even if no sewer overflows have occurred. Bacteria from polluted storm water runoff also can pose a health risk.
You should avoid human contact with area waterways during and after rain storms because that is when the health risk is greatest.
