Basement Connection

In 2011 the Village of Shorewood completed dye water testing and smoke testing of the sanitary sewers in high priority areas to identify private property sources of inflow and infiltration that contribute to wet weather related sewer problems. The information gathered was used to develop a strategy to focus the funding available from MMSD for private property work on areas where the public system has already been rehabilitated and where the most urgent needs exist. Based on the 2011 investigative work, extensive investigative work previously completed by the Village, the work schedule for the public rehabilitation work, and the anticipated yearly funding level from MMSD; the Village developed the plan outlined by the map to complete private lateral rehabilitation in the areas referred by the Village as Basin 01 and Basin 06 approximately bounded by W. Glendale, W. Capitol, N. Oakland, and N. Wilson.
