Join us for a one-day collection event on Saturday, August 9th, from 8:00 am to 2:00 pm Nicolet High School 6701 N Jean Nicolet Rd, Glendale (Front Parking Lot).

Milwaukee County residents, make your home safer by dropping off hazardous household items at the FREE MMSD Home HazMat collection.

Items accepted include old gas, paint, fluorescent light bulbs, motor oil, aerosol cans, rechargeable batteries, liquid nicotine, vape pen batteries, and much more.

You don't even have to leave your car—just bring your ID! The collection is only open to Milwaukee County residents (no businesses).

 

If you can't make it, three drop-off facilities are open year-round to help keep harmful chemicals out of our water and environment.

Drop-Off Rules

Item limits:

  • Latex Paint - Limit 20 gallons per visit
  • Fluorescent Light Bulbs - Limit 20 tubes per visit
  • Asbestos - Limit two contractor-sized garbage bags (triple bagged) – only at the Menomonee Falls location

MMSD can only accept waste that is generated by households or apartments in Milwaukee County

  • No Schools, Churches, or Non-Profits
  • No Government Agencies

If you can't make it to this one-day event, three drive-through Home HazMat collection sites are open all year for Milwaukee County residents.  For locations, hours, and a list of items you can and cannot bring.
