Wastewater treatment infrastructure will receive the most attention in MMSD’s 2019 $202.4 million capital budget, helping reduce the risk of sewer overflows and basement backups. The owner of a $200,000 home in 2019 will pay approximately $6.87 more than they did in 2018 for MMSD services for a total cost of $478.22 (Total cost varies slightly for each municipality in Milwaukee County).
While MMSD’s 2019 Long-Range Financing Plan is $1.4 billion (including debt service), the great majority of capital expenditures over the next six years include rehabilitation, replacement or improvement of existing District facilities and infrastructure.
