COMBINED SEWER OVERFLOW (CSO) IMPACTED WATERS

Combined sewer overflows may affect the receiving water, the nearshore areas of the harbor in Lake Michigan, and these public access areas.

  • Milwaukee River - Kiwanis Landing  and Riverfront boat launches, and Riverside parks, and marinas

  • Menomonee River - Emmber Lane and Valley Passage boat launches

  • Lake Michigan - McKinley and South Shore boat launches

Milwaukee County operates three beaches near the combined sewer area: Bradford, McKinley, and South Shore. From Memorial Day through Labor Day, the City of Milwaukee Health Department samples surface water at these beaches and provides water quality advice to beach users. Information is available on the main health department beach website page. For questions, please contact: the Milwaukee Health Department at 414-286-3521 and North Shore Health Department (Shorewood Atwater Beach) at 414-371-2980com
